Statement of Intent
This module requires the student to 'investigate digital and electronic media, undertaking experimental approaches appropriate and practical to the conceptual rationale of your proposal'. From initial conversations at the first tutorial with the module leader and with ideas started in previous modules (this is the last module in the MA for this author), a portfolio will be built around the nature of image and sound. To expand on this - a portfolio of experiments based upon images and sounds that are generated digitally (via a computer) then put out or physically set into the analogue or real world as objects.

Introduction
The two items on the first page show work that has been generated on computers. The Muybridge images (which are now out of copyright according to Wikipedia) are put together as an animation to work on a web browser and the sound was recorded into Flash. These are forms of output but they require a computer to work. The intention here is to start with the computer as a visual and audio recording device and then output them to stand alone.

This process is nothing unusual, but through creating a portfolio of experiments the intention will be to output these images and sounds into objects not akin to standard computer hardware. Thus when used or interacted with the viewer would be faced with a double set of events. Seemingly simple hardware, but high tech image and sound output.
