Philosophy
Film effects in today’s big budget flicks are out of reach for small time aficionados like myself. However, with the power of Photoshop, frame by frame modifications can be made with quite interesting results.

Concept and reference points
Using the computer to film myself by a work desk I wanted to create a fantasy state of escape via the ‘out of office’ connection on an email account. Frame by frame the illusion would be built and then transferred into a flicker book or back into image ready to re-make the film. Alice in Wonderland is an obvious link, but more importantly my own loathing of the standard office desk and work environment.

Testing
Making the film as short as possible but enough to get the point across was essential.

Direction
More stand-alone books based on this project will be built and developed for possible publication.
